Poundland deserve some Kudos for keeping us Brits in cheap film for many years but when Agfaphoto Vista Plus 200 (AVP200) was pulled mid 2017 the dream died. Then just in December a new film appeared on the shelf at Poundland. But whilst it may be the cheapest film on the High Street, it is no bargain.
So as I munch the last of the Xmas cheese board and polish off the port. It is time for our annual humour look back of the highs and lows of film photography in 2018.
As the last of New Year’s bubbly goes flay and the last mince pie is being scoffed, it’s my annual look back at what has happened in the last 12 months in the world of Analogue film. But as its been a busy year, I’m breaking things into 2 two parts. This look back and a later post on the awards of the year.
3 packs of instax square and some rather good crisp days later I’ve got a grasp of Diana Instant. But does it live up to the Hype as being the lomographer’s instant camera. And does it stay true to the Diana concept & style ?
I find myself weirdly reviewing genuinely brand new analogue film camera. It’s also an instant one (a first here !). Lomography’s latest Diana series camera arrived yesterday. Whilst I haven’t been able to test it fully, I’m starting to get a feel for this Kickstarter shooter.

Amongst the box of film those nice folk from Analogue wonderland sent me was roll of Siberra ULTIMA 160 B&W film. This is based on their successful PAN 160 B&W film but with a thinner substrate.
Before the Kickstarter Yashica Y35 project even closed there were negative rumblings and those have intensified over this year reaching fever pitch when the camera shipped. But what did folk really expect for ~$120USD ? Are we making realistic appraisals of this camera with too high expections
