Mile High Fog ? – Does Air Travel Affect Your Film ?

Probably the worst timed post I’ve ever done because the world is currently grounded. But unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ll no doubt be aware that flying poses a risk to your camera film thanks to these new airport security scans.

But what about the actual act of travelling by plane ? Those high altitude cosmic rays do have some impact. But it turns not as much as you’d think. Even better with some help I’ve tested that out. So put your trays back and put your seat upright..

A Brief History Of Photography By Objects – 11 – Photograph Of An English Gentleman – 1860’s

Two for the price of one this time. Before the 1860’s Photography whilst not new was still in it’s infancy. It could be pricey to get your photo taken . But without the man in the picture, photography might not have come into existence.

Is The yashica MF-2 a Kickstarter Too Far ?

As 2019 draws to a close you don’t need to watch the Eastenders or Gavin & Stacey Christmas special for a festive cliffhanger. Over in Crowdfunding land, a certain Yashica is running out of time to get it’s new 35mm film camera funded. And there’s even been some backer pull out.

A Brief History of Photography By Objects – 10 – Engraving Of a Device For showing Drawings Mid 1800’s

Our object seems to have little to do with photography at first glance. It predates photography’s first public demonstrations, but would move photography from two dimensions into the third. And the tech behind it is still in use today in 3D movies. But its early years were a bit like a 50’s 3D B Movie – A Tale of Monstrous rivalry and experimentation.

The Analogue Week 3 – Wet Trails, Dirty Cameras and Lomo Woes

My apologies as this is way late but it has been a busy month as you’ll see. This post we’ll have a couple of trips away to discuss some new & old cameras and why I’m probably never buying Lomography 120 film ever again. But worse still it looks like the Lomography Film is now dead on the UK High Street too.

Oh and some other worthy reviews to check out and a DIY project for the darkroom bunnies.
