Champagne Supernova ? – The Nikon F50/N50 Review
The 90’s was a era of massive change in both society and the camera worls. Against a backdrop of Brit Pop, Canon usurped Nikon’s lead role by the start of the decade. But Nikon would fight back with new models. A lot of focus on is on the F90 and the F70. But alongside these notable cameras the F50 (N50) was released aimed at the less demanding punter. Old Meets New: The original VUWS and the Reto UWS
Or How not to do a head to head Review
The cult plastic legend that is the VUWS (Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim) rides again in the form of the Reto UWS (Ultra Wide and Slim). And this got folks really excited so I decided to take the orginal out with the new kid
But how does the Reto UWS compare to the VUWS ?
It would help if I had loaded the same film
Last of the Line – Canon EOS 300X
Somehow the bag got flipped over.
2 cameras headed straight down onto the road. The one would survive with a mere scuff but the hit snapped the door clip off on my Canon EOS 300X (aka Rebel T2/Kiss 7).
I had killed the last Film SLR designed by Canon.
But I’m torn if I’m gonna replace it or just move on. It’s 5 part technical brilliance mixed with dollop of marmite.

Fan Daby or Just Dozy? – Nikon F70 (N70)
By the early 1990’s Nikon had lost their dominance due to the rise of Canon’s EOS system. But the company fought back wit the legendary F90 prosumer camera that served as the bridge to the F5. It would be joined by the F70 (N70 in US) serious midrange model. But the Nikon F70’s infamous Fan interface made an otherwise great camera, one of the least desired Nikon models today.

10 Years too late – Pentax MZ-60 (ZX-60) Review
The 2002 Pentax MZ-60 on one level is just another entry level AF film SLR in that ghastly 2 tone silver/black colour. For the novice user it presented a competent enough package. But it’s an example of where an idiotic cost cutting measure has left it being one of the least desired film bodies today.
