Kodak 35 EF : Poundland Challenge Camera No 6

This odd little 80’s Kodak number came amongst a ton of Cameras that I picked up for 99p. This little fixed focus and fixed shutter number however has become a firm favourite

Hanimex 35 DL Review : Poundland Challenge Camera No 3

This wacky fixed focus number arrived early on into the Poundland challenge. This quirky 2 lens camera was also sold as Cronus 35DL and Kin Son 35 DL and is closely related to the Miranda TL-200 and its clones. Sadly mines arrive with some batteries in – possible the most corroded batteries I’ve ever had. But could I get it working and was it worth the effort ?

Halina Speedy 33 : Poundland Camera No 1

This was the first camera to arrive from my Poundland challenge. For less than a quid (99p plus P&P) this was the first of the poundland challenge camera to arrive and my first red halina. But Did I end up red faced or flushed with excitement with this 99p fixed focus number.

Halina Panorama Review : No Frills Plastic-O-Rama

Plastic Trash cam or sheer Genius ?
Both are descriptions I’ve heard about the Halina Panorama  also better known in the US as the Ansco Pix Panorama . But where does the truth lie with this no frills Shooter.

Barclaycard Visa Camera Review – I shouldn’t like this but….

The Barclaycard Visa Camera was a freebie camera that has the infamous optical color lens moniker. A true plastic trashcam which is now worryingly brittle. But there is something endearing about this lump of plastic toy camera,

Olympus XA2 Review : Good yes but classic…..

I suspect this review may get me flamed, but I have to be honest whilst the XA2 is a good P&S camera IMHO it isn’t the classic it’s often described as

Olympus XA2
Olympus XA2 open & closed

That said it’s not a bad choice and can give you great shots.

Goko UF Review : Universal Focus Plastic Flashtic

This year I managed to pick up a Goko UF a pretty rare fixed focus plastic flash shooter with a patented Universal Focus system which promises the ability to remain in focus both near and far.

But how does that work in practice and with a camera with a fixed aperture ? Continue reading Goko UF Review : Universal Focus Plastic Flashtic

Halina 1000 Review – 70’s plastic fun to take on the Diana Mini

Halina 1000
Halina 1000

The Halina 1000 is wee bit of an oddity.  Launched in the 70’s it was  the little sis of the  Halina 2000 & Halina 3000. Unlike those  scale focus, multiple settings cameras, the Halina 1000 was pretty much all plastic fixed focus fun with minimal settings. Pretty basic by the standards of the day but now presents sharper alternative to the Diana Mini in the Toy Camera class.
